Cybersecurity researchers discovered a new malware in the Google Chrome web browser. This malware locks the entire system of the device, preventing users from using any other apps. When trying to use another app, a page appears, prompting users to enter their Google account username and password. Hackers are using this method to steal Google account passwords and accounts.Hackers are stealing Google account information
Cybersecurity research institute OA Labs discovered this new malware. The company states that hackers are stealing Google account passwords and accounts using a technique called ‘AutoIT Credential Flusher’ with malware named Stealcy.
How do you know if your phone is cracked or not?
This technique forces users to log in with their Google password to access other apps. Hackers have been collecting information using this method since August 22. This activity of cybercriminals collecting information through malware can be considered completely new.Hackers are stealing Google account information
OA Labs’ research reveals that the stealthy malware uses Chrome’s kiosk mode to carry out this technique. This mode locks the entire screen and system of the Chrome window, making even the Esc and F11 keys on the keyboard ineffective. As a result, users cannot return to the previous page. Additionally, the toolbar, navigation buttons, and address bar are hidden. A page then appears on the device screen, requiring users to log in with their Google account name and password to access another app. Cybercriminals collect these user credentials through the Stealcy malware.Hackers are stealing Google account information
